George's Obituary
George Norman “Norm” Love, 85, of South Haven, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family, under Hospice care. He was born November 11, 1931 to George and Nora (Willerton) Love in Berlamont, Michigan. Norm married Shirley Banaszak on August 1, 1964 in South Haven and shared 51 years of marriage before her passing in 2015. Norm worked in tool and die at DuWel for many years before his eventual retirement in 1988. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting just about anything and fishing wherever they were biting. He especially loved his hunting and fishing trips to Canada. Norm also enjoyed watching westerns, NASCAR and boxing.
He is preceded in death along with his parents and wife, by a daughter – Laurie Ann Love who passed in 1967 and sister – Sarah Jewell.
Norm is survived by his children – Linda (Bud) McElyea of Kennett, Missouri, Randy (Kim Rhives) Love of Richwoods, Missouri, Pam (Ken) Goff of South Haven, and Kim (Gil Logan) Love of Coloma. Twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. And his trusty companions, Ivory and Puss-Puss, who were always by his side.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating at the Grand Junction Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Norm’s memory to the organization of the donor’s choice.
