Robert L. Nagle

The Lord called his servant, Robert, to his heavenly home.  Robert passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Gilead Elder Care. Robert was born on February 14, 1932 to Harold and Edith(Siers) Nagle.

Robert served his country in the United States Navy from June 1950 to August 1955 during the Korean War.

On June 2, 1956 he married the love of his life Carol (Pastryk) at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, MI. Robert was Park Superintendent for the City of St. Joseph, retiring after 34 1/2 years of service.  He earned his degree from Michigan State University in Nursery and Landscape Management.

While a member at Trinity he served as a Trustee.  He enjoyed visiting the elderly.  His favorite sports were downhill and water skiing, golf, baseball and he loved to travel.

Robert was a member of the Kiwanis Club of St. Joseph/Benton Harbor and served as President from 2006/2007. He and his wife also volunteered at the Mendel Center. 

He is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Jeanine (Michael) Doroh of Stevensville and Sheryl (Alan) Kerschen of Portage, MI.  Grandchildren Jennifer, Heidi and Nathan Doroh of Stevensville, and Natalie Cope of Portage, step grandchildren Brice (Martina) Kerschen and Paige Kerschen and Great Grandchildren Mylo and Marlie of Battle Creek.  Sister-in-law Linda DiMiceli of Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold, granddaughter Allison, nieces Sandra and Ruth and Brother-in-law Dani DiMiceli.  

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman, Michigan at 11:00am.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service with Reverend Thomas R. Brazinsky officiating.
