Brian's Obituary
Brian Lee Szymczak (Laughing Boy) passed away in South Haven on Saturday, February 18, 2017 surrounded by friends and family who love him and will miss him very much. He led a big colorful life.
Brian was born in South Haven on September 27, 1947. He joined the United States Navy at 17 and became a radio man. He received three Bronze Stars for three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a milkman for Sherman Dairy when you still had to shovel ice over the milk. He later worked as a bartender and on a shrimp boat in Florida before becoming a cable splicer. His work took him all over the country. Brian split his time between Michigan and California where he was an excellent Northern California farmer. He loved the outdoors and hiked the Lost Coast.
He was a very politically active Progressive. His travels and stories are treasured and will be remembered by all who enjoyed his telling them.
He is preceded in death by his parents – Helen and Edmund Szymczak, brother- Stewart, and his two beautiful dogs. Brian is survived by his brothers – Denis and Roger, sister – Edye, and three children – Josh, Breanna, and Julia. Four grandchildren also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the home of the Greens, 15170 77th Street, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
