Ira's Obituary

Ira Pearson, Jr., 83, of Covert, formerly of Chicago, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born May 14, 1933 to Ira and Annie (Gunn) Pearson in Camp Hill, Alabama. Ira honorably served his country in the United States Army. Ira was a master upholsterer and loved to fish.  He also enjoyed working on cars.

He was a member and church superintendent of the Faith Temple of Christ of All Nations Church in Covert where he also taught Sunday School. He married Lily Clark on June 21, 1997 at the Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Covert.


He is preceded in death along with his parents by a son – Sean Pearson and siblings – Lily and Otis Pearson.


Ira is survived by his wife – Lily Clark, children – Bryan Pearson, David, Cordaryl, Trenton, and Monique Clark, granddaughter - Portia Pearson, brother-in-law—Joe Clark, and nieces and nephews – Lily, Beverly, Oretha, Larry, and James Ira.


Ira will be laid to rest with military honors at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
