Jessie's Obituary
Jessie Victor Larkins, 57, of Kalamazoo, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born August 17, 1959 to Carl Crippen and Gladys Marie (Larkins) Griffin in Detroit, Michigan. Jessie loved to sing and spend time with his grandchildren. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching basketball and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by brother – Orlando Crippen and grandson – Antoine Jessie Currie, Jr.
Jessie is survived by his children – Latrice (Melvin) Jeffries of South Haven, Jessica Larkins of South Haven, Deon Larkins of Germany, special son – Eric Shelton and his children, grandchildren – Victoria and Cameron London and Melony and Malik Jeffries, companion – Ava Harris, and siblings – Carol Hall, Ewatis, Cardelia (Charles), and Frank Crippen all of Detroit. He also leaves behind two great aunts, a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Wake will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow wake at 2:00 PM with Pastor Henry Allen, Sr. officiating at the funeral home.
