Thomas's Obituary
Thomas Irving Aemisegger, 74, of Grand Junction, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home under Hospice care. He was born January 28, 1943 to Donald and Margaret (Burns) Aemisegger in Detroit, Michigan. Thomas served his country during the Vietnam war in the United States Army. He married Ruth Ann Foss on July 2, 1983 in Grand Junction. Thomas worked as a metallurgist for Bohn Aluminum for 29 ½ years and later worked at Mamouth Inc. in Holland for ten years before his eventual retirement in 2001. Thomas loved to be outdoors camping, fishing, or working on trucks. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by a brother – Robert Aemisegger.
Thomas is survived by his wife – Ruth Ann Aemisegger of Grand Junction, children – Ronald Aemisegger of Kalamazoo, Shelly (Bob) Davis of Decaturville, Tennessee, Mitchell Detlefsen of Grand Junction, David Aemisegger of Illinois, and Kenneth Aemissegger of Kalamazoo, siblings – Donald Aemisegger of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Janice Carter and June Aemisegger both of North Carolina. Six grandchildren – Alicia and Heather Aemisegger, Nick, Cheyenee, Chelsea, and William Davis and three great grandchildren – Anilice, Sophia, and Olivia also survive.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sarah Farkas officiating at the funeral home. Thomas will be laid to rest at Grand Junction Cemetery.
