Amorette's Obituary
Amorette Hennig, 92, of Grand Junction, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Rose Arbor Hospice Center in Kalamazoo. She was born June 24, 1924 to Eugene and Kathryn (Thompson) Plummer in Chicago, Illinois. Amorette graduated from Harper High School in Chicago with the Class of 1941. She later married Jack R. Hennig on April 22, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. They shared 50 years of marriage before his passing in 1997. Amorette was an avid reader and worked as a librarian for several years before becoming a Bank Teller for First National Bank. She was an associate member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.
Amorette is survived by her sister – Marilou Waldrom of Chicago, Illinois, and several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, Amorette’s wishes were for you to send flowers to someone who does not normally receive flowers. Contributions may be made in Amorette’s memory to the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, Michigan 49090 or Rose Arbor Hospice, 5473 Croyden Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009.
