Janet's Obituary
Janet L. Woodruff, 80, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven. She was born January 3, 1937 to Linnea (Johnson) Thorpe in Detroit. Janet graduated from high school in Marquette, Michigan and went on to work as a substance abuse counselor for Berrien County. She enjoyed crocheting and writing. At one time, Janet was an avid BINGO player. She married Donald Woodruff on September 28, 1963 and shared 16 years of marriage before his death in 1979.
She is preceded in death along with her husband by her mother Linnea and father Marlden Thorpe, and sister – Elizabeth Dell.
Janet is survived by her children – Larry Woodruff of Davie, Florida, Alecia Woodruff of Covert, and Donald Woodruff of Davie, Florida, sisters – Gloria Smith of South Haven and Marlene (Lyle) Mitchell of Kalamazoo, four grandchildren – Vanessa, Alice, Max, and Chyane, and two great grandsons.
A memorial picnic will be held at a later date.
