Willie's Obituary

Willie Haze Williams departed this life on September 3, 2017. He was born April 7, 1934 in Troy, Alabama the son of Mary Lee and John Tom Williams. Willie moved to Bangor, Michigan in 1976. In the year 1997, he met and married Joyce Williams from Chicago, Illinois. Together they shared four sons, Antwane Davis of Penn, Alfonso Williams of Penn, Bernard T. Steward of Muskegon, Mich, and Christopher W. Steward of Kalamazoo, Mich. Willie loved to sing and was with the Might Clouds of Joy for a short while. He loved the Lord with all his heart and enjoyed talking about Jesus. He also enjoyed fishing and working with people. In 1976, Willie was employed by DuWel Metal Product Inc. in Bangor as a truck driver and worked in shipping and receiving where he retired in 2012. He went to work for Stokes Home Stead Farm Market as a lift truck driver.

Willie was once a member of Kibbie Community Church in 2001 under Pastor Jeff Terry. Shortly the church moved and became True Knowledge Ministries still under Pastor Jeff Terry. In 2013, Willie joined Lily of the Valley under Pastor Daryll Williams where he was a crown deacon. Willie lived Pastor Daryll and his church family.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and five brothers.

He leaves to mourn him his wife of 21 years– Joyce Williams, sons – Antwane Davis, Alfonzo Williams, Bernard and Christopher Steward, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Wake will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Lily of the Valley Church in Covert. Funeral services will follow wake at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Darryl Williams officiating.
