Richard's Obituary

Richard “Dick” Rusin, 91, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at his home under Hospice care. He was born March 28, 1926 to Jacob and Mary Rusin in Covert, Michigan. Dick honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked at the Everett Piano Factory for over 45 years before his retirement. Dick was also a skilled blueberry farmer. He enjoyed ice fishing, golfing, softball, bowling, and hunting.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother – Zyg Rusin.


Dick is survived by his wife – Shirley (Eberhardt) Rusin of South Haven, children – Richard Rusin, Jr., Kathleen Ann Miller, and Steve Lee Rusin, grandchildren – David and Michael Dawe, and Cody Miller. Two great grandchildren also survive.


Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Koller officiating. Dick will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Contributions may be made in Dick’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
