Mary's Obituary
Mary Francis Brooks, 87, of Covert, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Mary was born November 16, 1929 to John and Willie (Jackson) Walker in Earle, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husbands – JW Coleman who passed in 1976 and Lonnie Brooks who passed in 2001, daughter – Rosalee Coleman, sons –Alfonso II, John, Eddie, and Tommy Coleman, and sister – Lucille.
Mary is survived by her children – Leroy Coleman of Detroit, Terry Coleman of Covert, Eddie Mae Rodgers of Covert, Mary Washington of Covert, Patsy Coleman of South Haven, and siblings – Henderson Walker of Mobile, Alabama, and Maggie Williams of Florida City, Florida, and aunt – Lucille Davis of South Bend, Indiana. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Wake will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Faith Temple in Christ in Covert. Funeral services will follow wake at 12:00 PM at the church with Pastor Lily Clark officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery.
