Donald's Obituary
Donald R. Peltz age 83 of South Haven died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his home under hospice care. Don was born February 14, 1934 in Rogers City, Michigan to Emil and Adelia (Bruder) Peltz. Don graduated from Rogers City High School in 1952. Don married Barbara Hopp on December 18, 1954 in Rogers City. He then worked on the Great Lakes for 10 years on several freighters including the John G. Munson and the Diamond Alkali. Following his work on the lakes, Don worked in the Tool and Die industry in the Detroit Area, Cadillac, Chicago and Douglas. He retired from Haworth in 1987. Don enjoyed Spending time with family, Hunting and organizing his garage. Don was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose #697 both in South Haven.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister - Elaine Tulgetski Brown and two brothers – Wallace and Gerald Peltz.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara Peltz. Three daughters – Carol (Darrel) Beebe of St. Joseph, Michigan; Patti (Brad) Peltz Johnson of Fennville and Dori Peltz of Berrien Spings, Michigan. Two grand children – Caydee (Taylor) Kearney and Derek (Cynthia) Beebe. Four great grand children – Emma, Lucas, Dax and Madeline. One brother, Myron (Barbara) Peltz of Rogers City, Michigan also survives.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. The Moose will lead a service beginning at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 15, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating.
