Dorothy J. Bierhalter

Dorothy J. Bierhalter, 88, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Bronson Hospital in South Haven. She was born May 11, 1929 to Horace and Kathryn (Anderson) Peterson in South Haven. Dorothy graduated with the South Haven High School Class of 1948. She married Edward Bierhalter on February 13, 1954 and shared 63 years of marriage. Dorothy was a dedicated wife and mother and home maker. She later went to work as a secretary for Lovejoy Inc. for 19 years until her retirement in 1992. At one time, Dorothy enjoyed bowling and sewing. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy loved cats and had a collection of ceramic cats.

Dorothy is survived by her husband – Edward Bierhalter of South Haven, children – Kathryn (Norman) Hodges of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin (Laurie) Bierhalter of South Haven and Keith Bierhalter of South Haven, grandchildren – Aaron (Pam) Hodges, Amber (Brian) Beisly, Morgan Bierhalter, Hayley Bierhalter, Reece (Stephanie) Bierhalter, and Kelsi Bierhalter, and great grandchildren – Jordan, Dylan, Ellie, Reagen, Carly, and Laney.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. Contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the South Haven Area Emergency Services, 90 Blue Star Hwy, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
