Donald's Obituary
Donald Earl Burrous, 84, of South Haven, passed away on Thursday, Novemeber 23, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born on September 5, 1933 to Leonard and Inez (Mason) Burrous in South Haven, Michigan. He married Shirley Butler on October 12, 1952 at the First Church of God in South Haven. They were married for 65 years. Donald graduated from Covert High School in 1952 where he was an avid basketball player. Don, known as Popeye by some, Pops by few and loved by all worked as a contractor in the area until his retirement. Don served on the Covert Volunteer Fire Department..
Donald is survived by the love of his life, Shirley Burrous. Children - Leroy (Kathy) Burrous of Niles, Michigan, and Bonnie (Randy) Schultz of Watervliet, Michigan. Four grand children and eight great grand children who kept him young and a twinkle in his eye.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 28 at 10:00 AM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service until noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your favorite charity.
