June LaVerne Streit

June LaVerne Streit, 84, of Bangor, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Wings Home Hospice Center in Allegan. She was born June 19, 1933 to Theodore and Lillie (Brandt) Martin, Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. June married John Streit on March 14, 1953 in Oaklawn, Illinois. They shared 32 years of marriage before his passing in 1985. June worked as a cosmetologist for ten years in Fairborn, Ohio. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crafting. She was a member for the St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven.

She is preceded in death along with her husband and parents by a daughter – JoAnn Marie Feig, siblings – Ruth Fritsch and Theodore Martin, Jr, and granddaughter – Ashley Harris.

June is survived by her children – John (Eva) Streit of Anchorage, Alaska, James (Karen) Streit of Lawrence, Michigan, Judy (William) MacDonald of Grand Rapids, Joyce (John) Doty of Grand Junction, Janice (Stewart) Rissley of Bangor, June Streit of Grand Junction, Michigan, Joseph (Sabrina) Streit of Lawrence, Jodi (Jodi) Forker of Paw Paw, and Jill (James) Burgett of Grand Junction. 27 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 with Rev. Jim Morris officiating. June will be laid to rest at Grand Junction Cemetery.
