Donald Lewis Burton

Donald Lewis Burton Sr. 52  of South Haven went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.  Donald was born September 14, 1965 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Elbert and Annie Dixon.  Donald graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1983.  Donald earned a certificate in Heating and Cooling Maintenance.  He married Veronica Wilson on July 18, 1985 in New Born, North Carolina.  Donald served his country in the US Marine Corps during Desert Strom.  Donald worked at Autozone in South Haven for 15 years and recently was employed at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo.  Donald loved tennis, fishing, cars, electronics. 

He his preceded in death by his father, Elbert Dixon and grandmothers – Eather Scott and Willie Mae Burton.

He is survived by his wife – Veronica Burton.  Mother – Annie Dixon of Benton Harbor.  Children – Whitney (Robert) Wallace of Holland, Donald L Burton Jr. of South Haven, Yazmine and Jazmine of South Haven, Dezahrae and Omarion Burton of Benton Harbor.  God sons – Braxton and Dominic Burrows.  Grandchildren – Simeon, Robert Jr. and Zenobia Wallace.  Siblings – Kenny (Mercedes) Dixon of Arizona, Elbert (Sherice) Dixon of Benton Harbor, Regina Dixon- Sistrunk of Detroit and Darren (Mary) Burton of Benton Harbor. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A wake will be on Friday, January 5, 2017 from 11:00AM to 12:00 PM at the New Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in Benton Harbor.  Home Going Services will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Dre Love officiating.  Pastor Willie T. Burton is the host pastor.
