Donald's Obituary
Donald Stankowski, age 88 , of South Haven passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Donald was born on January 17, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Zigmund and Julia Stankowski. He married his late wife, Blasina Diaz in Chicago, Illinois. Donald attended multiple trade schools and became a machinist. He enjoyed working on both boats and cars and even built his own boat. Donald served his country as a Marine in the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Blasina, and his brother Stanley Stankowski.
He is survived by his sons – Donald (Sandra) Stankowski and Edward Stankowski both of Chicago, Illlinois. Grandchildren – Donald, Michael, Eddie, Samantha, and Andy Stankowski. One great grandchild, Gwen. One sister, Joanne also survives.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66657.
