Alice Greer

Alice Greer, 72, of Covert, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 25, 2018. She was born August 19, 1945 to Willie and Eveline (Bradley) Richardson in Elaine, Arkansas. Alice married James William Greer and their union was blessed with several children. They shared many years of marriage before his passing in 1984. Alice accepted Christ at an early age and attended the Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed fishing, trying her luck at the casino, and cooking for her family.

She is preceded in death along with her parents and husband by her son – Eric Highley, brothers – Willie Lee, Sylvester, Leortice Richardson, sister – Clara Smith, second husband – Greg Simpson, and son-in-law – Robert Bolden.

Alice is survived by her children – Wanda (David) Lewis, Javetta Richardson, Dorthie Bolden, Dana Greer, Jerome (Ninel) Greer, Anthony (Dorian) Greer, James (Dana) Greer, and Kelvin Greer, sisters – Joyce Toms and Christine Marr, step-daughter – Carmen Simpson, special daughter – Rachael Gillis, daughter-in-law – Marie Gogins, 31 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Wake will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Gospel Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Covert. Funeral services will follow the wake at 1:00 PM with Pastor Henry Allen, Sr., officiating. Alice will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery.
