Carson Wayne Munn

Carson Wayne Munn, Jr., 73, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Bronson Hospital in South Haven. He was born November 21, 1944 to Carson and Velma (Keene) Munn in Bloomingdale, Michigan. Carson honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Bohn Aluminum in South Haven until its closing. He became a drug and alcohol abuse counselor in 1989 for twenty years founding New Journey Substance Abuse services with his wife Patricia. They also started the Light House Recovery Center at the South Haven Community Hospital. Carson retired in 2009. He married Patricia Postle on August 26, 1978. They shared 34 years of marriage until her passing in 2012. Carson enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and time spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Basil Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death along with his parents and wife by a son – Robert Marr and brothers – Jim and Bob Munn.

Carson is survived by his children  - Tony Marr of South Haven, Chuck Munn of South Haven, Monica Koblinski of Paw Paw, Kay (Lewis) Koch of Allegan, and Jessica (Nick) Pleasant of South Haven, siblings – Mary Hills of Allegan, Janice Munn of Gobles, and Carol Helm of Bangor, 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the funeral home with Deacon John Lohrstorfer officiating.
