Barbara Ruth Peltz

Barbara Ruth Peltz, 80, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the River Ridge Retirement Community. She was born October 30, 1937 to Carl and Ila (Bredow) Hopp in Rogers City, Michigan. Barbara married Donald Peltz on December 18, 1954 in Rogers City. They shared 63 years in marriage before his passing in 2017. Barbara was a member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven and the Women of the Moose.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband – Donald Peltz.

Barbara is survived by her children – Carol (Darrel) Beebe of St. Joseph, Michigan, Patti (Brad) Peltz-Johnson of Fennville, and Dori Peltz of Berrien Springs, two grandchildren – Caydee (Taylor) Kearney and Derek (Cynthia) Beebe, four great grandchildren – Emma, Lucas, Dax, and Madeline, and siblings -Wayne Hopp of Rogers City, Michigan and Larry Hopp of South Haven.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Memorial Highway, South Haven, Michigan 49090 or to the South Haven Family Moose Lodge, 1025 E. Wells Street, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
