Bonita's Obituary
Bonita S. Mines, 75, of South Haven, went to see her Lord Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born August 21, 1943 to Elvis and Marie (McDonald) Jackson in Kennett, Missouri. Bonita married John Mines on December 17, 1961 in Kennett, Missouri. They shared 57 years in marriage. Bonita was an avid Elvis Presley fan. She worked as a bartender at the Moose Lodge and the Phoenix Inn for several years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers – Bobby, Jimmy, and Charles Jackson.
She is survived by her husband – John Mines of South Haven, children – Beverly (Gary) Perysian, Kenneth Mines, and David (Sarah) Mines all of South Haven, sisters - Carol Hoggard, Rosemary Jackson, and Linda Brandon, grandchildren – Amber, Chuck, Haley, Hannah, Alyssa and Jami Sutton, and four great grandchildren – Brayden, Castor, Haven, and Adalienne.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the First Church of God in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 10:30 AM with Pastor Steve Starks officiating at the church. Bonita will be laid to rest at Monks Cemetery in Geneva Township.
