Karen Ann Appleyard

Karen Ann Appleyard, 72, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her home. She was born December 23, 1946 to William and Eleanor (Burrell) Knapp in South Haven. Karen graduated from South Haven High School with the Class of 1965. She worked with Appleyard Photography for many years. Karen was later an administrative assistant at the South Haven Community Hospital. She loved sports and enjoyed golfing and playing tennis. Karen was also an avid reader and enjoyed crafting with cross stitching and macramé.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers – Joseph, Donald, and Thomas Knapp; sister – Deborah.

Karen is survived by two daughters – Megan (Don) Washegesic of South Haven and Marcy (Ryan) Till of Woodinville, Washington; five grandchildren – Sarah, Alec, Marissa, Rebecca, and Samantha; siblings – Patricia MacLaren of Casa Grande, Arizona, Mary Ellen (Terry) Williams of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Joan Knapp of Lansing, Kathleen Brinks of Stevensville, Jim (Jan) Knapp of South Haven, William Knapp of East Lansing, Robert (Jodi) Knapp of San Jose, California, Chuck (Nancy) Knapp of South Haven and Chris Knapp of South Haven.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Karen’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
