Elsie Alberta Kuhn-Wiltse

Elsie Alberta Kuhn-Wiltse, 86, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Grace of Douglas Nursing Home in Douglas, Michigan. Elsie was born July 13, 1933 to Albert and Jessie (Knapp) Markey in Custer, Michigan. Elsie worked most of her career as a bookkeeper and later, for fifteen years, as a secretary for the State of Michigan before her retirement in 2009. She loved keeping track of and playing with her grandchildren. Elsie also enjoyed square dancing and playing cards.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her first husband – John Frank Kuhn who passed in 1978, second husband – James Wiltse who passed in 2015, daughter – Elizabeth Marie (Michael) Walburn, and siblings – Bob, Roy, Anna Markey.

Elsie is survived by her children – Margaret (Joel) Wolverton of Wyoming, Michigan, Doug (Beth) Kuhn of South Haven, Judy (Richard) Hannigan of St. Leonard, Maryland, and John (Linda) Kuhn of Cedar, Michigan; sister – Laurie (Dan) Gollnick; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held July 28 at 3:00 PM at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Memorial Highway, in South Haven. Elsie will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elsie’s memory to a Hospice organization of your choice.
