James "Pete"'s Obituary
James Edward Jackson, affectionately known as “Pete”, was born on March 13, 1938 to Roy and Minnie Lee Jackson of Jackson, Tennessee. James migrated to Chicago, Illinois where he worked at various janitorial jobs. Years later, James moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where he continued working odd jobs. Later in life, James, accepted his calling as a Minister and preached at various churches within Michigan.
James enjoyed traveling and hanging with family and friends. He also enjoyed going out to eat and watching baseball and football. James also enjoyed hanging with other residents within his living community. Through it all, Pete kept a smile on his face, Love in his heart, and God on his mind till the end.
James departed this life on September 2, 2019 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 81 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. James was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Minnie Lee Jackson, Siblings – Rosalie Jackson Hayes, Raymond Jackson, Herbert Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Jimmy Jackson and Mikeral Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children - Christopher Jackson of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Carmela Davis of Indianapolis, Indiana, Diane (Eric) White, James Jr. (Annette) Jackson, and stepson Charles Love all of Chicago, Illinois. Siblings – Gladys (Perry) Broady of Covert, Michigan, Glenda (Allen) Hawkins and Sherlene Turman of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Roy (Pam) Jackson, and Eddie Jackson of South Haven, Michigan, and Terry Jackson of St. Louis, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends that loved him dearly.
