Mary E. Watson

Mary Elizabeth Watson, of Grand Junction, Michigan, departed this world on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 peacefully in her home. She was born March 10, 1927 to Alfred and Rachel (Bowers) Hill in Summit, Mississippi. Mary accepted Christ at an early age and her religion played a key role in her life. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and gardening. Mary loved to spend time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband – Freeman Watson, mother – Rachel Bowers, sons – James (JoElla) Jackson, George Hill, and Timothy Watson, sister – Helen Bullock, brothers – Versie and Ciero Bullock, and long-time sister and friend – Hattie Booker.

Mary is survived by her children – Charles (Kuristen) Watson of Benton Harbor, Paul (Shelley) Watson of Milbridge, Maine, Lillie (Arnold) Watson of Covert, and Sandra Lee Watson of Kalamazoo; grandchildren – Jason, Corey, and Andre Lee, George Hill, Denise Taylor, Andy Harley, and Samantha Harris; great grandchildren -Xavion, JaNahya, Olivia, and Lilyana Harris and many more; nephew – Jimmie (Loretta) Bullock; niece – Vanaessa Bullock; her church family, Faith of Apostles Paw Paw, Michigan community and friends; and her great grand dog, Lucy!

The Lord hath done it this very day. Let us rejoice today and be glad!

A wake will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor David Harn officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Grand Junction Cemetery in Grand Junction, Michigan.
