Our families knew each other for years through school and church. However, my dad and Walt really bonded over their love of old cars (they both had vintage Mustangs) and their beloved club. I remember one time when our van was having problems while we were visiting from California. Walt knew a neighbor who was a shade tree mechanic that helped us get back on the road and back to California. While we were checking on the van, I had the opportunity to watch these two old (older) guys talk about their precious Mustangs. They were having so much fun. Maybe, they'll get to meet again.

We gave wonderful thanks for knowing Walt and being in ministry with him at Stevensville UMC for twelve years. He was a great and humble friend. I will always remember him sitting next
to his Mustang.

Walt has been a special friend for many years: kind, generous, thoughtful. Just a beautiful person. It has been a regret that I haven't been able to visit him now for months because of lack of transportation. He will definitely be missed by family and friends.
