Duane Allen Lefor, 52, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 29, 2018 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Raymond Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Friends may visit with the family from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Duane was born November 6, 1965 in St. Joseph to Donald & Patricia (Watson) Lefor. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1985. Duane was employed for the last twelve years at Bridgman Public Schools until his health forced his retirement. He was a sports fanatic-collecting sports memorabilia and rooting for the Chicago Bulls, Bears & Cubs. In earlier years, Duane enjoyed golf & bowling. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Duane is survived by his mother Patricia Zuppke of Stevensville; his father Donald Lefor of Clearwater, FL; two sisters-Sheryl (Timothy) Zerbel of St. Joseph, Pam (Robert) Wilson, III of Battle Creek; three step-brothers-Ron (Anita) Balow, Bruce & Billy Balow; sister-in-law Becky (Steve) Lefor-Krohn; and three nephews-Zachary Wilson, Matthew Wilson & Tyler Lefor. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Lefor in 1999, his step-father Ted Zuppke & his step-mother Betti Lefor.
