The first time I met Kal was at Kokomo. We shared the trip and room for the St Louis VHCMA convention. When American Huey 369 was at ST Joe-Benton Harbor Lest We Forget event Kal would come over and see me. Missed him at St Joe and Kokomo this year. Slow hand salute, you will be missed kal.

I flew with Kally often with the 129th in Vietnam. He was a fine pilot and I considered him a friend. Visited with him in Mesa in 2015 and glad I did. I also saw him several times at the veterans event in Kokomo, IN. My condolences to his wife and family.

My old Friend since Benton Harbor High school. Kal an me always shared a love of cars and motorcycles and eventually ended up together in Fort Rucker Alabama. He became a Huey pilot and I became a Huey crew chief. What a rest guy! I will miss him.
My condolences to Shirley and the family .

Kally worked for me on many occasions while employed at Whirlpool. His work ethics was exemplary. I will cherish the many conversations we had concerning Nam. We served during the same years. May the peace of the Lord be with you and your family my friend. The best is yet to come.....

First met Kal probably in the year of 1998 or 99 via the internet during my research of finding men who served with my KIA brother of the 129th Assualt Helicopter Company. In 2005 Dee and I met up with Kal in INDY on his Victory motorcycle and we were on our HD. Thus started our 4 day ride (journey ) to San Antonio TX for a 129th reunion. Spent 8 days on the road with Kal staying at the cheapest hotel we could find. Oh Kal was a stickler for finding the best deal to be had. Kal stayed at our house during a LZMarkey Mark Mini 129th gathering twice.
It's was always a pleasure and honor to be in Kal's presence. He is the one that taught me that flying a Huey became "SECOND NATURE" JUST LIKE RIDING A BIKE. MY ANSWER TO THAT WAS, " Yeah without somebody shooting at you trying to kill you. I miss Kal's special laugh and his friendship. So 18 years later and many, many visits with Kal and Shirley at 129th reunions and such I come to render Kal a SLOW HAND SALUTE.
