Maxine M. Paschall, 91, of Stevensville, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at her home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018, at Riverview Park Christian Church, 2929 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI and one hour before the service from 2-3 on Friday. Burial will take place at a later date in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made Riverview Park Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Maxine was born on June 3, 1927, to Kenneth and Tillie (Wikel) Jewell in Benton Harbor, MI and graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Maxine raised a family of five children while working at Whirlpool starting as a Switchboard Operator and retiring in 1988 as an Executive Secretary. On December 13, 1980 she married Jake Paschall, Jr. at Riverview Park Christian Church in St. Joseph where they attended for many years. Maxine enjoyed birds, nature and garden tours. She especially appreciated art, music and books. Maxine enjoyed travelling and went on her last downhill ski trip in Aspen at the age of 83. She enjoyed attending Notre Dame football games and being one of the “Magnificent 12” golf league at Pipestone Creek. She was often recognized by her wonderful dimpled smile and her beautiful hats. Maxine enjoyed life but most of all, loved her husband, family and friends.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Jake Paschall, Jr.; children, Madeline (Rick) Harris, Brett (Cindy) Bailey, Lisa (Terry) Teeter, Kenneth (Joy) Bailey and Laura Bailey; grandchildren, Julie, Tracy, Alissa, Brandi, Erin, Garrett and Kelley; ten great-grandchildren and sister, Micki Fillwock. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joan Thar, Maurice Jewell and Evelyn Jewell.
