Jina Elizabeth McIlvenny

Jina Elizabeth McIlvenny, 55, of St. Joseph passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018, from 4-9 p.m. also at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HERBIE Health Clinic or SANE. Those wishing to send a condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jina was born on June 4, 1963, to James and Jean McIlvenny in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Bangor High School in 1981. She then went on to Bronson School of Nursing. She worked at Lakeland Regional Medical Center as an ER nurse for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, euchre, kayaking, and travel.  She was an avid supporter of Best Friends 4-H, the Herbie Medical Clinic, and Lest We Forget.  Jina is survived by her parents, James and Jean McIlvenny; sister, Julie McIlvenny; significant other, Mark Parren; step-daughters, Christa (Chad) Warren and Kathy (Ephraim) Armendariz,  granddaughter Jocelyn Thornton, and extended family across the United States and Northern Ireland as well as her friends at Lakeland Health.
