Mark and Jina’s family, Jina was a light in everyone’s life. I have so many good memories of Jina. Like when we worked the nightshift together. On quiet nights we would play eurcer. Jina would call the police department for a fourth for the game. She always had a big respond on the police. Jina will always be loved and in our hearts.

I think back to the way back day, 30 yrs ago, really?
Both living in downtown St. Joe and hanging out with
a group of friends at all the festivities summer had to offer.
Rest In Peace, Jina.

To the McIlvenny family, I will let you eavesdrop on my conversation with God and Jina. From my lips to God’s ears.
Jina; How very much I pray that you are safe in God's arms, and experiencing the glorious peace that eluded you on this earth these last few months. This earthly life is not an easy one, and I'm sorry that your physical weariness won over. Thank you for all the times you moved all of us with your humor, your wisdom, and your poignancy. You touched this world Jina, and left a beautiful impression. Prayers too, for your family and friends as they struggle with your loss. You are home at last.....

To all Jina’s close friends and family, I am very sorry for your loss! I would like to share a Bible verse of encouragement... Jesus said, “ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”. Matthew 11:28-29.
Jina was a good woman and she will be missed!

In honor of Jina, Tara, Bill and Eliana Rougle lit a candle.
We were so sorry to hear of Jina's passing. She was so full of life - always so cheery and fun, and kind and caring. I remember when she helped me get a medical appointment quickly for a test I needed when I was pregnant for Eliana and we were home visiting from abroad. The result brought so much peace of mind. She was in such good spirits and again helpful with a doctor recommendation when we saw her just a month ago. I have so many wonderful memories of the McIlvenny's growing up with Julie, including Jina riding her horse and shooing us "little kids" out of her room as a teenager. I remember how proud her parents were when she became a nurse. We visited a couple of times during Venetian Festival or 4th of July and had some great times at her house. She and Mark were so kind when they attended my brother David's funeral in May. And now she is gone - it's just not fair. I know the pain is great, but may all the wonderful memories of Jina comfort all her many family members and friends. We cannot attend the funeral, but we are there in spirit and sending love, hugs and prayers. With deepest condolences, Tara, Bill and Eliana

We are thinking about Jean, Jim, Julie and Mark in their present state of trying to imagine life going forward without Jina. Especially because the expectation is that there is an order in which we experience the time of our lives. We don’t expect this. The young leave before the old. But Jina left us. Cancer took her as it takes many of us. It isn’t fair. We will miss her great sense of humor and her generosity. I knew her as a very spirited little girl who had wonderful adventures both in the City where we met the McIllvenny family and later at their Bangor farm where our kids played on weekends with Jina and her younger sister Julie. And after losing touch ten years ago we got together again and spent some wonderful Times together. But none of us imagined this would happen. That she would leave so soon. Treasured those times. Treasure the moments with your loved ones. We will miss Jina. But we know she’s already claimed her star and think of her when you look up the next starry night.

Our sincerest sympathy to Jina's family, Mark Parren and the many friends and patients who have been touched by the warm and caring spirit of this very brave ER RN. Her compassionate legacy will live on forever in the lives of her many former students, coworkers, friends, and pets who have had the pleasure and honor of knowing her during her short time with us. Thoughts and prayers to all during this very difficult time of transition as we continue to remember Jina in our cherished memories as she watches down from heaven as our guardian angel.
