Marcella's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Marcella here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Suz What wonderful memories with your Mom and Dad and the family. Certainly the dozens of laughs with Grandma Martha, your Mom and your father at Point O’ Woods. Continuing memories of marvelous Sealed Power times and certainly the golf in Florida. Your Mom and Dad will be remembered for so many things by so many people, however by me for the support and guidance with my career. There will never be two more giving, supportive people on this earth. God bless and I sincerely hope our paths may cross in the near term.

Suz, so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. She and my mom, Mil Fetters, were great friends. The last few years when I came back to St. Joe I would see and talk with your mom at the Sunday band concerts. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Suz & Scott -
We've so enjoyed your mother's wit and charm over the past 10 years. As Phyllis noted to your mom at an event last year, ' all the cute girls wear gold shoes ' --- which brought that wonderful grin to her face.
Continued blessings, Mike & Phyllis

Having known Marcie for several years at Faith Lutheran and Grace Lutheran churches in Naples, it was always a pleasure to have her (and Ed too in years past) come back for the winter as there would always be warm greetings each Sunday . When she called a day or two before she left Naples this year , I had no idea it would be the last time until we meet in heaven. God blessed her and prayers are being sent for His peace for her family!

Scott and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Though I did not know your mother she left a remarkable legacy for our community. She raised a wonderful family to continue her spirit of sharing. God bless you all.

The death of a loved one is the most devastating experiences a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are those who care about you and your family during this difficult time and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. We pray that Jehovah the God of all comfort is with the family during this difficult time of grief. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Oh, the memories of years past and those we served, how good they were and are. But as for everyone there comes an end. It is always with some degrees of grief. But those who we have known and have served our God there is not only grief but there can be joy in and with the knowledge of where their loved one has gone. So, we say to you, grieve but only for awhile and then let it turn to joy in the knowledge of where Marcie is. To you her family, walk on and follow in God’s way so yours may be a reunion in the future. May God give and bring all of you comfort and peace.

To Susan and Scott, your mom was one of my mom’s best friends at MSU (or MSC) and I was so blessed to have her as my Godmother. She has never missed my birthday in 58 years. I am so sad for selfish reasons that she was one of the last links to my own mom, and such a kind and thoughtful person to me over the years. However also for what she meant to so many other people and organizations that I know she helped. I hope to get to the funeral on Thursday to pay my respects and heartfelt gratitude to a wonderful servant of God.

I learned first hand of Marcie's generous spirit when she lent financial support and advice to the Area Agency on Aging's efforts to expand services in 2011. She had a wonderful sense of humor and direct, practical advice. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with her. The Gast -Schalon Board Room is named in her honor. What a blessing she was to this community, and how fortunate we all were to have her for such a long and giving life.

Marcie was a very generous donor to the St. Joseph Public Library. Her contributions made a big difference in making programs to enhance learning and reading possible.
