I worked with John and the G and G Trucking family at Whirlpool. He was a great guy. I am truly blessed to have known him. He will be missed. Thinking of his family.

I knew John thru his business G and G Trucking. The family also assisted my family with personal moves.
John was truly a stand-up guy. He lived during the era where a man's word meant something.
He truly will be missed.

I want to extend my sincerest condolences to all of John's family. I worked with John and his family for nearly 15 years with their insurance. He was the kindest of all my clients. He never ended a conversation without thanking me for my service to his business. I will miss his kind voice.

I am very sad to hear of John's passing. I enjoyed every encounter I had with him. This includes a long list of sporting activities, with John being quite good at everything. I have admired his strong familial bond for many years and could see the love each brother (and sister) had for the other sibling. The family always grew as they welcomed many would be strangers to their fold. A very fine family has lost a very good man and I have lost a friend - RIP

My heart goes out to Sarah, Lynne and the entire Gathrigjt family. I knew John through his sister and just like his sister, Mary Jo Welch, John was a truly wonderful and kind person that if you had the privilege of meeting him you just loved him. My prayers are with the entire family.

Our condolences to the entire Gathright family, his friends and anyone whose life he ever touched. The last six words in the obit says it all "He was a truly good man". I am proud to say for the last 60 years I called John a friend. Rest in peace John, you will be missed by many.

Attempting to sum up John’s life in an obituary is inadequate to personally knowing the man as I am certain many can attest. John was the finest man I knew, and I have known him for over 45 years. He was a good man with a huge heart, a sense of humor, and willing to “give the shirt off his back” for others in need. My deepest condolences to his family and friends but also to those who did not know John because you would have been blessed and inspired if you did. He will live on in many hearts and rightly so. ??

I am so sorry to hear of John Jr. passing, he was a classmate from his Childress Arkansas days and he and I were on the junior high basketball team together. I truly cared for him and he will be missed, I had the privilege to talk to him about 10-15 years ago when I called him to ask him to come to the class of 1960 Childress reunion.

We were so sorry to see this loss to the family and community. We knew the Gathright Clan through our beloved Aunt Mary, who was a Burns during my growing up years. John loved his family, that I remember well. You are all in our thoughts.
