I just heard of her passing. I was lucky to know this wonderful lady through my daughter Ashley. She was her student in sister lakes elementary. She was such a loving and caring woman. My daughter learned so much from her. She will never be forgotten.

MY COUSIN SUE WAS AKIN TO JOYFUL RAYS OF SUNSHINE. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE SAD AROUND HER. SHE SPREAD HAPPINESS LIKE A MOTHER WITH A SPATULA SPREADING DELICIOUS ICEING ON A CAKE.
IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT WE DON’T REALIZE A LOVED ONE’S FULL PRESENCE IN OUR LIVES AND FAMILY UNTIL THEY ARE HAVE LEFT THIS EARTH BUT WE DO GET TO KEEP THE TREASURED MEMORIES. THAT IS THE BLESSING AND BEQUEST THEY LEAVE US WITH.
BESIDES BEING AN EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER, SUSAN’S GREATEST LEGACY IS THE GREAT GIFT OF LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING SHE BROUGHT TO THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL CHALLENGES AND THE REALMS SHE OPENED UP FOR THEM. IT MAY BE A CLICHÉ BUT SHE CERTAINLY DEPARTED THIS WORLD IN WHICH SHE SINULARLY MADE A MUCH BETTER PLACE AND FULLFILLED HER SACRED DESTINY……. IN FULL.
SUE HAS NOT REALLY LEFT US BEHIND BUT JUST TRAVELED BEFORE US TO PAVE THE WAY. SUE HAS GONE TO A GREAT FAMILY REUNION WHERE SHE WILL BE REUNITED WITH THE LOVES OF HER LIFE, HER HUSBAND BILL, HER MOM, DAD, GRAMMA MILLER, AUNTS, UNCLES, SOME OF HER FRIENDS AND GRAMPA MILLER WHO SHE NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW.
SHE LIVES NOW IN BLISSFUL HARMONY. WE WILL BE WITH HER AGAIN WHEN WE TOO ARE INVITED TO THIS GREAT FAMILY REUNION………..BUT NOT YET.

I was fortunate to know Sue through our contacts in the school system and Tiny Talkers. Sue's warmth and compassion was unparalleled. She was a bright light.
Deep sympathy to Sue's family.

We are so sorry for your loss. Sue has such a huge impact on my daughter's life and we attribute a large part of her success with her speech to Sue and the wonderful work she did. Not only was the teacher for my daughter with Down syndrome, she was a personal friend of mine and we also worked together at Lewis Cass ISD. She will be dearly missed and we are so very sorry for your loss. She was a truly remarkable and wonderful lady.

Such great memories of times together at Christmas, laughing, singing and even sometimes being silly. What a great lady, so so sorry.

I worked with Sue at Visitor's Hospital many years ago....I remember a messy car, which I helped her clean out may times, and many bags of M&M's. She was a beautiful person inside and out. We shared many good times and many laughs. My condolences go out to Sue's family.

Sue was an amazing, loving and very humorous woman! We shared many a laugh at Jensen's Docks in South Haven. Besides Bill, her late husband, Lang, Christie and grandson Logan were the whole center of her life. She will be truly missed! But she gave us great memories!!
