My deepest sympathies are with the Custer family at this time. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prays as you grieve this loss. John was an important member of the Bismarck State College Nuclear Power Technology Program and we will miss him.

Johnny always had so many positive things to teach and say. He loved my sister and their children dearly.

In honor of John, Steve Nielsen lit a candle.
I knew John when we live in Michigan but we had moved away in 2005. While I was deployed to Iraq for the Navy in 2008, John emailed me on a regular basis probably once a week. I am not even sure how he got my email address. I think that the only one who emailed me more frequently than John was my Wife. It was very much appreciated and I think he did it just because he could and wanted to.
