Elizabeth M. Borysko

Elizabeth “Liz” May Borysko was born on March 30, 1932, in St. Joseph, to the late Judge Fremont Evans & late St. Joseph Postmistress Evelyn (Standing) Evans Morton. Liz graduated from Eastern Michigan University and then went on to receive her Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan. On June 26, 1954, she married her soul mate John Borysko. They would go on to be married for almost 61 years. Liz and John never had children but Liz thrived as the director of the children’s department of the Mt. Clemens Public Library for 27 years. Liz and John had a cottage on Strawberry Island on Lake St. Claire for many years and traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia. She led a full life. Liz is survived by her sister Carolyn Dorgelo of Bridgman; nieces Pamela (Michael Kline) Dorgelo of St. Joseph and Dianna (Alan) Zwirn of Belle Harbor, NY; four grand-nieces; and one grand-nephew. Liz was preceded in death by her husband John Borysko and nephew Jeffery Dorgelo. Liz’s family would especially like to thank the staff at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman for their compassion during this time of loss and will have a private Celebration of Life service at a later date.
