We were so sad to hear of the loss of our neighbor and friend, Liz. It was our pleasure to have gotten to know her in her later years in life and learn about what a special lady she was. She will be missed.

My old pal and classmate, Lis, is gone and it is a sad event. She was a kind, sweet person to whom we could always depend on. We started grade school together, played in the band and orchestra, swam at the Pumping Station and grew up as young ladies together. Our Mariner Troop is getting smaller and smaller, Blesses to my dear friend, Elizabeth. carole Gibney howard

I am so sad to hear of Mrs. Boryskos's passing. I dearly remember her from the Saturday morning "children's room" book sharing at the Mt. Clemens Public Library. I and a cousin would attend most Saturday's. We attended until, at least, the ages of 12 or 13 (unheard of in this day and age!) I looked forward to seeing what book Mrs. Borysko would share that particular week. I went on to become an Elementary teacher in the Mt. Clemens Community School District, teaching young children. I think my love for Children's Literature may have been "planted" by this wonderful Librarian. I still can remember the kind, loving, gentle ways of Mrs.Borysko- she knew how to keep our interest, while fostering a "love for literature.! Rest in peace and "Thank You."

Having been assistant children's librarian to Mrs. Borysko for many years, I can say there are fond memories for every part f the paragraph that says: On June 26, 1954, she married her soul mate John Borysko. They would go on to be married for almost 61 years. Liz and John never had children but Liz thrived as the director of the children’s department of the Mt. Clemens Public Library for 27 years. Liz and John had a cottage on Strawberry Island on Lake St. Claire for many years and traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia. She led a full life.
A full life indeed. As I said on the library's Facebook page " So many of us will remember her for so long. She is not forgotten because of her long dedication to MTC, the library and its community."
May her family know she made a positive difference in many lives.
