I had the great opportunity to work with Walter in the Berrien County Sheriff's Department Tether division. He was a man based on principals, doing the right thing, NOT about being politically correct! A rare breed. Shirley my thoughts are with you, he will be missed by many. RIP friend.

"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Ralph Waldo Emerson
May we all be so brave, to walk in the path set by Mr. Zych, for he lived well.

There was no finer man, no person more dedicated to the well-being of others, with integrity, humor, determination, and major effectiveness. And there is no better friend. We will miss you, Walter, even as we are grateful beyond measure for you and Shirley for your friendship.Godspeed!
