Frances's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Frances here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
I first met Frannie over 40 years ago at the usual round of Doctor parties that were typically held over the holidays. She knew that I was involved with the Michigan chapter of the National Organization for Women and asked what the new year held for us. I told her that we were going to Detroit in the spring to picket the Pope because of the Catholic Churches stance on women.....she was so impressed that she made a sizeable donation to the organization!
I saw her recently and we had a wonderful visit. When I walked in she said I hadn't changed in 40 years....I told her I was taking her home with me and putting her on my night stand so she could tell me that every morning before I looked in the mirror!
She was a lively woman, interested in everything and so much fun to be around as she was an excellent conversationalist. When you talked to Frannie, she always made sure the focus was on you.
My partner's mother started Hospice in Berrien County and friends have told me that hospice was a great comfort to the family in Frannie's last days. That makes me feel good, as I was out of town and unable to attend her funeral. I feel that I was somehow there in spirit because of that connection.
I can only imagine how much you'll miss her....I join you in that feeling.

Buzz,
So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I did not have the privilege of meeting her, but she had to be quite a lady to raise such a fine man as yourself. God be with you.
