In honor of Lois, Debra Megna lit a candle.
Lois was one of the nicest and most thoughtful people I had the privilege of knowing. Her laugh was contagious her spirit so bright we shared many days of having coffee and just visiting she will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with the Stancik family.

I was saddened to hear the news of Lois passing. She was always really kind to me. Often times when I knew she was hurting she wanted all around her to be happy. Many good memories of boating out of the West Basin. She enjoyed her Friday nights at the Elk's with John, I enjoyed chatting with her. It is time for her to enjoy her much deserved Salvation, she did so much for others her whole life. God be with the kids.

I new Lois for only a year, but it seems as though I have known her for much longer.I started our friendship with helping Lois for 6 weeks after a fall, but it continued continued untill her passing. It started out as a job however it turned out to be much closer and much more than that. Through our visits I came to feel as though I was getting to know her her children as well as Lois as we talked about all of her children at each visit. I would always take flowers to my Mom and then Lois. When my passed away in Sept. I missed taking flowers to my Mom and felt such a void, and I didn't know if I could continue going to woodland terrace but after seeing Lois again I knew it was the right thing to do. I remember thinking...I could pick flowers for lois! She enjoyed them so much. One time I took flowers from my garden to her and her cat Bud tipped them over and she started crying and I realized she wasn't crying because of the flowers she was afraid I would be angry with Bud. I pet Bud and assured her I was more concerned that Bud was ok and not upset about the flowers , and I could see that Lois felt a great sense of relief and a renewed feeling of trust with me.
I am so thankful to Kathy way for putting us together. It was another good chapter in my life to get to know Lois and a positive feeling of someone else having a few happy moments in their life . As with my Mom I will miss our times together and no one now to pick flowers for, but I am grateful for the time and memories. Thanks to the family and Lois for all of this
. With much sadness and gratefulness , Barb Voss

Lois and I worked together for several years at the Lakeshore Junior High. These are some of the best years of my teaching career. She was so good with the kids and they loved her so much. She always could make me laugh even on the toughest days. Before I met her I had no interest in gardening but she took me on a tour of her yard and I was hooked. Whenever I work in my garden now I will think of her. She was a great lady and a great friend.

To all the Stanciks…my heartfelt sympathies go out to your family. I consider it a privilege to have known your Momma. I enjoyed her frequent visits to Grand Haven to stay with Mary, and visiting her in St. Joe when we would come down for the Reindog Parade. Your Mom never met a stranger and was always a great conversationalist. I loved hearing her stories. A very special lady…she will be missed!

Lois was a great lady. She was not afraid to speak her mind and talk about subjects others might shy away from. I remember many conversations filled with laughter and encouragement. Her garden, especially the peonies, and amazing Christmas trees were second to none. I'm so happy to have had the pleasure of her friendship over the past 60 years. Love and peace to you all .
