Chris's Obituary
Chris T. Hocker, 41, of St. Joseph, died Sunday, August 4,
2002 as the result of an auto accident in Shelby, Michigan. A
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M.
Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 3003 Leco
Ct., St. Joseph, with Rev. Wade Panse officiating. Burial will
follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call on
Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Family
Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may
be made to the First United Methodist Church or the
Children?s College Fund. Friends wishing to share a memory

Chris was born on September 24, 1960 in Benton Harbor to
Robert Jr. & Nancy (Null) Hocker. He was a 1978 graduate
of Lake Michigan Catholic High School and a 1982 graduate
of Michigan State University. Chris was co-owner with his
mother Nancy of the Hocker-Frick Insurance Agency in St.
Joseph until 1998 when they sold to Liskey Insurance Agency
where Chris was currently employed an agent.
On May 25, 2002 he married Ruth Johnson in Gatlinburg,
TN. Chris was a very loving, caring, & giving person. He
was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed golfing and the
Chicago Cubs.
Chris is survived by his wife Ruth; his daughter-Molly Helene
Hocker, his son-Griffin Edward Hocker, both of Altamonte
Springs, FL; his mother-Nancy Hocker of Benton Harbor; a
brother-Bill (Sandy) Hocker of Stevensville; two
sisters-Nancy Summerfelt of St. Joseph, and Cindy (David
Lange) Hocker-Lange of Perrysburg, OH. He was preceded
in death by his father-Robert J. Hocker, Jr. on February 21,
1996; his sister Mary Beth Hocker on December 3, 1962 and
his brother-Robert J. Hocker, III on August 4, 1967.
