Arthur's Obituary
Arthur W. Grinewitzki, 86, of Benton Harbor, passed away
Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center-
St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10
A.M. Wednesday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral
Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. John Dantuma
officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery
with military rites conducted by Coloma American Legion
Post 362, Hartford American Legion Post 93, VFW Post 1137
of Benton Harbor, and VFW Post 6803 of Watervliet. Friends
may call on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Napier Parkview Baptist Church.

Art was born on March 24, 1916 in Benton Harbor to Karl &
Huldina (Janz) Grinewitzki. He graduated in 1933 from
Benton Harbor High School. In September of 1940 he married
the former Rose Gruntman. Art was employed at Industrial
Rubber for many years before leaving to join Sears-Roebuck
Co. in the Furniture & Appliance Departments, retiring in
1971. Art was a life member of St. Joseph Elks #541, life
member of the AMVETS, a member of the Disabled
American Veterans and the Benton Harbor Moose. He was a
devoted and active member of all the organizations to which
he belonged. Art was a loving and devoted husband, having
looked after the needs of his wife Rose when she was in ill
health for her last several years. Art was a very helping
neighbor ? always willing to lend a hand.
Art is survived by his special friend and caregiver ? Holly E.
Young of Benton Harbor; three sisters ? Elsie Grinewitzki of
Stevensville, Lydia ?Mickey? Kutz of St. Joseph, Ruth
(Ervin) Mabs of Porterville, CA; a sister-in-law Dorothy
Grinewitzki of St. Joseph; and several nieces & nephews. He
was preceded in death by his wife Rose in 1987, his parents
and a brother Karl ?Fritz? Grinewitzki in 1990.
