Mel was a wonderful man, So down to earth yet so very intelligent. He and I bowled together, laughed at his pony named Tony and he showed me his Dr diploma that as on a real sheepskin. His biggest thrill was having tea with Mrs sadot. He told awesome stories of the different people of his travels. He was a great man that I will very sadly miss all the rest of my life.

Myself, Lori, has known Mel for a very long time. ?What a man! ?Many things over the years has meant so much to me. ?I have always lived in Sister Lakes and he was always a fixture at the alley. ?My husband did not know him long, but long enough to know that Mel Ott was a very special man. He will be loved forever and missed deeply by both of us.

????Mr. Ott will be greatly missed. He was my accounting instructor at SMC, and I consider him one of the best teachers I ever had. Not only that, he was a kind and interesting person, as well. I always looked forward to sitting through one of his lectures. I am now retired myself because of physical ailments received from an automobile accident. However, I was able to work many years for the federal government, thanks in part to what I learned in Mr. Ott's classes. He also encouraged me to further my education, which I did when I received my bachelor's degree at Indiana University. I just wish that I could have had more teachers like Mr. Ott.
