So very sorry to hear this news. One of the greatest men I have ever known. Certainly one fine mentor, cabinetmaker, ski buddy and dare I say fiddle player too. Thank you Fredhelm for the short time we spent together. May God love bless and keep you and your family.

Heidi, Helga and Randy,
I am so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was such a light in my life growing up and playing soccer in the Lakeshore community. He always had an encouraging word to share with us as well as a knowing smiling (especially when we got called for rough play on the field). I was fortunate to have Fred and Helga at my wedding - such influential people in my formative years. My heart aches for you all. Knowing the struggles of Alzheimers, I have made a donation in Fred's name in hopes one day, there will be a cure. Sending all our love and prayers for peace from Columbus, OH.

Helga, Heidi, & Randy, I am so sad for your loss and my deepest heart felt sympathy goes out to you. Fred and I had more then a referee relationship. He and I were friends and meant something more to each other.
We lost a Good Man. He was a Good Husband, Father, Referee, and Friend. I will miss his calls for computer help and his always upbeat spirit.
It is with disappointment and sadness that I am not be able to make it to the visitation or funeral. I am going to be out of town on my annual family vacation. I know how much family meant to Fred and so I think he understands.
So sorry for your loss.

Not enough words to express our rememberance of a life time with Fred. I remember him picking Helga up for dates in Sarasota. Spending a month in Stevensville after Heidi was born and watching the joy in his face. Hearing him laugh as he would sit and talk with us all. He was a wonderful man who had so many talents it is hard to even name them all but his greatest strength was the love he shared with Helga, his children and family and all of us. What a wonderful testimony to him is knowing how much he did to make this world a better place. He will be missed by so many. Much love to you all.

So sorry to hear about Fred' s passing. As a neighbor, he always had a friendly wave, a moment for a quick chat, and was a pleasure to have for a neighbor. May he find peace in heaven.

Dear Heidi, and Randi - when I was a teenager, your dad was my big brother. He was single and hung out at our house a lot. On hot summer nights, we would meet up at the beach after he and my dad got off work. My mother would have made a scrumptious meal and we would have dinner, and swim until the sun set and the city cooled off. Many nights he stayed at our house. He came over for dinners, and to play games. He took me on rides on his motorcycle. I learned, he was a man with a heart of gold. He cared for everyone. He made sure his work was par non! Once he met your Mom, it was all over. He loved her deeply and was dedicated to her alone. Even though we barely saw each other in the last few decades, he will always be in my heart.
When I saw him last Wednesday in the hospital, he was upbeat and chowing down a large order of peaches. When I asked why, considering it was hospital food, he responded with, "Yeah, but its free!" His dry sense on humor, as always. He was upbeat and optimistic. His only worry, he told me was your Mom. Take heart, in having a wonderful, caring, loving man for a father. He will be missed!

Dear Helga and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Fred was a sweet man who was a wonderful violinist and was nice to build railings on my steps while I was at Royalton recuperating from my broken leg. He was a wonderful man. He will be missed!!! May the Lord comfort you as you recall his memories. Always remember that he's never really gone as long as you remember him. Chris Nails
