Charlie and Bill,
So sorry that Bob and I couldn’t attend your mom’s visitation and funeral last week. We were out of town and very disappointed we couldn’t be there for you. I have so many fond memories of your mom going back to our childhood years. She was so sweet natured and always wore a smile. Of course, my favorite story is when she cut Charlie’s sandwich the wrong way (in half instead of diagonally), and when he refused to eat it, she taped it and then cut it diagonally. After high school, it was always a treat running into her in a store or in later years downtown near or at The Whitcomb. Her face always lit up when she saw me, and I just loved visiting with her for awhile. 98 years is an incredibly long life to spread love and joy, and she certainly did. We send our deepest sympathies to you and your entire family.
Love,
Lynn (and Bob) Basselman

I have very fond memories of Edith while working with her at the Courthouse. She was indeed a very kind and compassionate lady. Having the same name created a special bond between us. May she rest in God's loving arms.

Arvin has fond memories of life across the street from the Ammeson family. She was always ready with a kind word and a sweet smile.....a long life well lived for sure. Our condolences to all of you. Arvin and Shirley Schneck

I always enjoyed visiting Aunt Edith and Uncle Carroll. I would carefully look in the living room and dining room at all the pretty items she had displayed on her window sashes and shelves. She had a great laugh, and I would hear it often when she was with both Aunt Harriet and my grandma Frances. What a wonderful lady!

Edith was someone I worked with back in the early to mid 70s at the courthouse.. she was one of the sweetest, kindest people I knew. She made coming to work each day a real pleasure. The only regret is that I didn’t keep in touch after I left as I started a family. My prayers and thoughts are with the family who will be truly missing such a wonderful lady. Heaven has acquired another gem for sure.
