Mil was a dear friend, a wonderful influence, and a remarkable woman who always gave of herself and served others. What a blessing to have had her in in our lives. There are so many amazing memories ...from high school musicals, madrigals, choirs, and trips to spending time together over the years on Mackinac Island and in Florida. She never missed an important event for our family as long as she was able to travel. Knowing Mil was a true blessing!

I am blessed to have worked closely with Mildred DeHorn and Virginia Archer on the Christian Arts Board. They were tireless workers carrying the light of our Lord Jesus Christ through drama, music and the arts. At age 90 I shall not forget their devotion.

I have fond memories of Miss DeHorn (Millie). She was always a friend, and I knew that I could always count on her to be a calming influence when needed. I will never forget the wonderful time I had when the BHHS Madrigal Singers toured Europe in 1964, and Miss DeHorn was our traveling nurse. Rest in Peace, Millie.

Miss DeHorn was a great influence in my life just by being there for all the staging prep when I was on the stage crew at BHHS. She gave me direction and purpose which has helped me all my life. She new how much I loved and respected her and Miss Archer. I got the privilege to have them come into our store and give them both hugs many times over the years. I'm sorry I lost track of her and never knew as I drove past the Caretel daily. I would have loved to tell her how much she has meant in my life and got a few more hugs! Thank you DeHorn family for sharing her with us all these years. Douglas Anthony

So sorry to see Ms. DeHorn has passed away. She was a beloved school nurse to so many who attended Benton Harbor Area Schools. We need one of Ms. DeHorn in every school, her legacy was that important to the health and well being of all. Fondly, Cindy Miller

Dear Family, I remember Miss DeHorn, RN with much fondness. I had applied to Bronson School of Nursing only to be informed that the fall 1965 class was full but I was accepted into the fall 1966 class. I was devastated! I didn't want to sit around for a whole year. That's where Miss DeHorn stepped in. After telling her my sob story, she advised that she was sure the Hackley Hospital School of Nursing was still accepting students into the fall class. And they were! Long story, short: I graduated from HHSN in August of 1968. I'm very proud of the education I received there. She played a big part in my life's profession.

Miss DeHorn was such a wonderful Lady! She was always there and helping with all Miss Archer's projects at school especially the yearly Musicals! She will be remembered forever by all those who came in contact with her.
