So sorry to hear about my cousin, Casandra. I spoke to her shortly before her birthday in November. She generously sent me pictures of my family that her mom had and I will cherish them forever. Mostly, I will cherish the memory of Casandra. We kept in touch over the years and I visited her in her family home in Benton Harbor several years ago. I will miss her and wish her peace in her new home. May God bless her and keep her in the palm of His hand.

Casandra, I am missing you today and everyday!!! I miss our conversations where we talked about everything going on in our lives and the world around us. We always tried very hard to support each other and give each other advice and counsel. I know that I relied heavily on you for so many years to get me through whatever problem I was dealing with on any given day. Your dedication to helping me "always" in any way that you could is a true testament to what friendship is all about!! You were a great advisor, counselor, listener and so very patient. I knew that when life's struggles really got me down that you would be there to lift me up. I could call you while in tears and you would have me laughing before our conversation was over. For all of these reasons plus so many more, I will miss you for the rest of my days. Going through this time of losing my closest friend you know what I want to do. I want to call you "my friend" and have you cheer me up, and make me laugh and tell me that everything will be okay!! Thank you for all of the wonderful years of fun and adventures, laughter and tears, mishaps and triumphs !!! I wouldn't trade these memories for anything in the world!!! I am so sorry that we were not able to solve all of the world's problems but we sure tried!! Maybe we will get a chance to try when we meet again on that higher ground!! May you feel God's Blessings for all eternity!! Your forever friend, Carrie
