Herbert W. Antonowitsch

Herbert W. Antonowitsch, 68, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Friday, February 28, 2020 at Spectrum Heart Center in Grand Rapids. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:00 P.M. Friday, March 6, 2020 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Ruth Zwald officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Herb was born December 13, 1951 in Benton Harbor to Theodore & Gertraud (Wegner) Antonowitsch. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1970. Herb joined his Father Ted in the family business-Quality Builders, which he continued to operate, along with Scott Lake Campground in Bloomingdale, Michigan. In his free time, Herb enjoyed hunting & fishing, and spending time with his family and many friends, especially his grandchildren. Herb is survived by his mother Gertraud Antonowitsch of St. Joseph; two sons-Erik (Brandy) Antonowitsch of Coloma, David (Cara) Antonowitsch of St. Joseph; two grandchildren-Ava & Isla Antonowitsch; his long-time significant other-Janet Loomis; two sisters-Chris (W.G. “Bo”) Smith of Sarasota, FL, Angelika (Bill) Colpitts of Rolling Prairie, IN; his brother Paul (Kris) Antonowitsch of Kalamazoo; two nephews-Kurt Antonowitsch & Ryan Colpitts; and friends too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his father Ted.
