To Buffy and Paul's family...so sorry for this shocking loss. I did not know Paul well but Buffy, you guys were always part of that slightly crazy early morning group that I unlocked the door for at South Shore. Always a smile, even at 4:30 in the morning. On behalf of myself and the entire staff at SSHRC, our sympathy, thoughts and prayers to you.

Only great memories of Paul. Only smiles from Paul. Only friends with Paul. Everybody should know Paul and spend time with him. I know that I for one could have benefited from more Paul in my life. I’m so sorry Buffy. Paul was one of the good ones and the lives that he touched will ripple forever. My condolences to his family. No parent should have to say goodbye forever to their child. Rest now my friend.

Paul’s passing is such a loss. He always made time for people and was just a good guy. I will miss our conversations and his wise counsel and knowledge. Most of all, I will miss his incredible sense of humor and his contributions to our Saturday afternoon college football text group. His insights, personal photos and love of MSU Football are legendary. Godspeed Paul. You will be greatly missed!

Incredibly sad to hear about the loss of Paul. What a treasure he was. Infectiously gregarious, fun loving, and kind. My heart breaks for his family and loved ones for walking through this unexpected reality. Although I haven't seen you since 1997, I have no doubt that our friendship would have continued right where it left off. Love to you, friend! Oh. . . and Go Green@

To Buffy and the Granigan Family. I had the special pleasure of knowing and spending time with Paul on many occassions to socialize with Buffy and Paul. Paul would have us all laughing while sharing a meal and a drink at a favorite restaurant.. Paul was the life of the group, telling funny stories while Buffy piped up adding her funny part of the story. Ont top of that , I got to sit near Buffy and hear hundreds of special and hilarious moments and see dozens of precious pictures of their amazing and great adventures. I knew they loved each other so, and meant the world to each other. He was truly a kind and generous man and I am glad to have had the chance to spend some time with him and know all about him through the love of his heart, my friend Ms. Buffy Delong. Much love to Buffy, his family , co-workers, and friends. Bless you all as you heal and forge on with his great memories in your head and in your heart. Holly Lancaster

So sorry for the loss of Paul. I’ve known him from our youth and was privileged to work with him at the Sheriff’s office. Paul never failed to make me smile as I’m sure he did with everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed.

“Dear Sue and Patrick, i am still stuck in AZ but hearing about the death of Paul was like losing another son. My last memories include hugs at Phillip’s funeral and my chats with him on his walks. I’m thankful for those good memories. My heart aches for you. Parents are not supposed to outlive their children. May God bless you and give you strength for now and always.
My deep condolences....Barb Harte

Paul was such a kind, thoughtful man. He’s like family and we are all sadden and heartbroken by his sudden loss. My mom babysat him for years when he was young and he became a part of our family. I remember he and Stevie getting into all kinds of mischief! Sending much love to you Pat and Suzy and family. Kathy Krieger Bublick

Sue, we have lost touch over the years, unfortunately. But I remember the way you used to talk about your son! Please accept my sincere condolences. There are never good words in times like this - I wish I had the perfect thing to say. Just know that you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so very sorry.

Buffy, my heart breaks for you. Although I never met Paul, I know the deep meaning of love you had for each other by following you and Paul for the last few years. You are going through the hardest part of life but are fortunate to have two amazing brothers, a very kind Mother, and multiple friends that will stand by your side and see you through. My prayers are with you Buffy, and my love. Aunt Joan

To Pat and Suzy, Buffy, and the extended friends and family of Paul. We lost a great and kind soul Saturday. He was that friend you could count on, that hug you always needed, that smile that said everything is going to be ok and chill out! His sense of humor and willingness to make your day better made him a living angel in my book. I spent my youth with him and his family. Pat and Sue and my mom would babysit us at each other's houses. We grew together like brothers and he was treated as such by us and I always felt like part of their family as well. He was the type of person that even if you hadn't connected with him in a while, it was like you never missed a beat. He made you just feel good about life. The saying that the good die young does not do this man justice. He is the epitome of kindness and generosity and will be missed for a life time. I pray for you all and if you need anything just ask. - Steve Krieger
