Antoinette "Toni"'s Obituary
Toni Carroll, 70 of South Haven, died on July 14, 2012 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on June 14, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Ron and Edna (Mooney) Walton. Toni graduated from St Francis Catholic High School in Traverse City. She received her BA from Aquinas College and her MA in mathematics from University of Detroit. She taught Mathematics and Computer Science at Siena Heights University, Bloomsburg University and Olive Harvey College. Toni was very active in the South Haven community. She was a member of AAUW, Diversity Coalition, Allegan County Human Services Board and the Allegan County Commission on Aging. She volunteered at the South Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau, Michigan Maritime Museum, South Haven Senior Center and the Zonta Club in Lenawee County. Toni also enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several book groups. However, her main passion was helping others.
She is preceded in death by her sisters – Dr. Elizabeth “Betsi” Walton and Laura Jane Walton Clark. Toni is survived by her husband – Tim Carroll of South Haven, MI, and one daughter – JJ (Jeff Lane) Lane Carroll of Fort Wayne, IN. Two granddaughters – Jenna and Jayda Lane. One brother – Bob (Marsha) Walton of Traverse City, Michigan. Nieces – Amy Lynn Walton and Katie Carroll. Nephews – Nate Walton and Jon Carroll.
